More than 100 colourful ducks take part in the annual Grand Norwich Duck Race.

The event, on the River Wensum in the city, raises funds for Break - a Norfolk-based charity that helps vulnerable young people.

Come get quackers with us for the annual Grand Norwich Duck Race in partnership with The Ribs of Beef public house, Norwich Canoe Hire, the Broads Authority and the Maids Head.

 

The Grand Norwich Duck Race is one that individuals, companies and community groups can get involved in – culminating in a fun filled day by the water’s edge on 1st August.

Ducks race from St George's Bridge to St Fye's Bridge, outside the Ribs of Beef Public House

The Fun starts at 12midday, with a duck parade on St George's Bridge at 1pm to 3pm.

There will also be a cake stall, ice creams, face painting, BBQ, little duck stall, games and other activities for everyone to enjoy.

The Sheriff of Norwich will open the proceedings on St George's Bridge:

3.00pm          Individual Duck Race - 3,000 little ducks will take to the water to swim their way to the finish line

3.20pm          Corporate Duck Race - large painted ducks take to the water to compete to win the Crystal Duck trophy

Corporate Ducks - £100 each to sponsor and all the ducks are of a ‘giant’ size – steady on the water and great to colour and decorate as is your company’s wish!  The ‘Duck Trophy’ goes to the winning giant duck over the line first!
