Resembling a paua shell, using resin to give a reflective water effect.
Painted on Waitangi Day during Lockdown in London, wishing life was normal again to be able to jump on a plane with ease and be able to enjoy the New Zealand summer with friends, family and trying to get home to the man I have loved since forever. Walking down the beach, BBQ's, Paua fritters, beach concerts, feet in the sand.
Instead, facing the reality of the sheer frustration of the MIQ voucher system mid pandemic and not being able to get home fast enough and having to wait until a voucher spot became available.
Watching life continue as normal in New Zealand, desperate to get home as fast as I can, and yet, just having to wait.
